The Guardian

Here's a rough concept sketch for the Guardian. As I was working with it this evening, I began to realize that I wanted something a bit more stylized for this story. I want to keep working the character until I get the right feel.

Still I wanted to follow up the previous entry and start the momentum on this blog with a post tonight of tonight's sketch. So here we are.

The Guardian's Post

Happy New Year to one and all. To those of you that have continued to check on this blog in spite of its dormancy, I want to thank you for your patience and tenacity. I look forward to rewarding your loyalty with huge sums of cash. So if you would just kindly mail me your bank account numbers and pertinent information, I will begin depositing forthwith.

In the meantime, I wanted to post this concept sketch of an establishing shot for a graphic novel/storyboard project that I am working on. I have decided to set a vague scene in order to create a little bit of interest in the character and his introduction. Is he villain or hero? Assassin or victim? Is he the Guardian or that which must be guarded against?

What do you make of it?

It's Hell, Boy.

Here is my submission for this week's Drawer Geeks topic, the Big Red Defender. He's got one left in the chamber, so he better make that shot count. Gonna put it "right between the eyes"...or between the slimy, serrated beak and tendrils...well, right in the kisser, anyways!

The Trouble with Earl

Arriving in his best duds and brand new Leone vest, Big Earl was not prepared for what he saw that night at the dance. There were two other cowboys making time with his best sweetheart, Ms. Abilene.

Not much for conversatin', Big Earl charged onto the dance floor in an avalanche of boots and denim. When the dust finally settled, no one in Prairie Dog County would dare to do the Macarena or the Hokie Pokie ever again.

"You call that dancing! I'll show you some real dancing!" You put your right foot in, you put your right foot out, you put your right foot in...

So, you think you can dance?

Floyd really wanted to win this year's line dancing championship to impress Ms. Abilene, the Prairie Dog County Princess. One, two...cha cha cha.
